16 February 2021 – David Beedon
“Lock’em up and and throw away the key”
What future for our prisons?
David’s experience in prison chaplaincy and his doctoral thesis on the pastoral care of people on indeterminate sentences lead him to challenge public perceptions about mass incarceration.
After ten years in the Royal Navy David Beedon was ordained to the Anglican ministry and served in Cannock, Wednesbury and Lichfield. In 2012 he joined the Prison Service as a chaplain, and has recently been awarded a Doctorate in Practical Theology for his thesis on the pastoral care of prisoners at risk of self-harm and suicide.
David has kindly provided a handout relating to his talk. Please have this to hand during David's presentation.
