Wales and Welshness
The dynamics of diversity
What does it mean to be Welsh and who gets to decide, not least in Wales? Is the sense of Wales and of Welshness changing? And where do England and the English fit into the picture? Christine Trevett considers these and other questions, along with history, language, tall hats, rugby, eisteddfodau, and second homes.
Christine Trevett
Christine Trevett spent over 25 years out of her native South Wales before returning to the region in the 1990s. She’s worked in education in secondary schools, training teachers and in universities, retiring as professor in the history of religion in Cardiff University. Quite often she bumps up against questions of Wales, Welshness, and identity.
