Why young people should vote
Reinvigorating our democracy
"Young people are not apathetic or ill-educated," Matthew asserts. "We remain as passionate about political issues as the generations that have gone before us. However, we are disenfranchised with the political system. In today's climate it is essential that we reinvigorate our democratic and political systems and centralise the voices of our youth, not only for the sake of our future, but also our present."
In his talk for Engaging Issues, Matthew will set out his case, and explain why getting young people engaged in politics matters to all of us.

In 2024, Matthew graduated with a First in Law (Laws LLB) from University College London. Alongside his undergraduate studies, Matthew worked at building, coordinating, and growing a grass-roots youth political movement. As the Head of Youth Outreach of Gina Miller's "True and Fair Party," he has experienced a wide spectrum of youth engagement with politics; from eager students of politics in London, to disenfranchised young people on the doorstep in Epsom and Ewell.
