The costs and benefits of aviation
Aviation may take us to far-flung destinations but its impacts on our climate and the public health of those living around airports and under flightpaths is considerable. What can the industry, governments and passengers do to change this, and is it enough to avoid asking the question of whether we should be flying less?
Tim Johnson
Tim has worked in the aviation and environment field for over 35 years. He is currently the Director of the UK-based Aviation Environment Federation, and represents civil society organisations at the UN specialised agency that oversees the development of international aviation. He is also a member of the Government's Jet Zero Taskforce.
